Checker answers and browser storage
The checker runs in your browser. It uses session storage to keep your answers and progress while you use the same tab. Those answers are not sent to our servers or automatically shared with ADI when you click a call button.
Use “Start again” on the result screen to clear your answers, or close the tab to end the browser session. Browser session restoration and private browsing can affect how long this information remains. Blocking browser storage may prevent progress from being saved.
Cookies and website visits
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and loads no third-party analytics, advertising pixels or embedded maps. Images and fonts are served with the site. There is no online contact form, account or payment facility.
Cloudflare provides the site’s hosting and delivery services. When you visit, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and page requests to deliver and protect the website. These requests do not include your checker answers. See Cloudflare’s privacy information for details of its processing.
Calling or emailing ADI
If you contact ADI, the team receives the information you provide, such as your name, contact details, property address and description of the problem. It is used to respond to your enquiry and, where requested, arrange and deliver services and related communications.
Calls to ADI’s offices through website telephone numbers are recorded for quality and training purposes. You can email instead if you prefer a written enquiry. Do not include payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information in an email.
Retention and sharing
ADI’s published service policy keeps customer information for as long as necessary for its services. Property records and reports may be retained for several years to refer to earlier investigations. This does not mean every category of information is kept for the same period. Contact us about the information held for your enquiry.
Relevant information may be shared to deliver a service, including with a payment provider if you book, another trade with your permission, or an insurer requesting information about work. Information may also be disclosed where needed for legal claims, legal obligations or emergencies. The website does not sell your checker answers or send them to advertising platforms.
Why we use personal information
Information needed to respond to a requested quotation or arrange a service is used to take steps at your request before a contract, or to fulfil that contract. We also use information for our legitimate interests in responding to general enquiries, maintaining service quality and protecting the website, and where needed to meet legal obligations.
Cloudflare operates internationally, so technical data may be processed outside the UK. Its data processing terms describe the safeguards it uses for international transfers.
Your information rights
You can request access to your personal information and correction of inaccurate details. Depending on the circumstances, you may also have rights to deletion, restriction, objection and data portability. Some information may need to be retained to meet legal obligations or deal with legal claims.
